Matthew D. Mingus, PhD
Matthew D. Mingus is an Associate Professor of History and Chair of the Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of New Mexico-Gallup. He received his PhD in History from the University of Florida.
Professor Mingus specializes in modern European history, modern German history, and the history of cartography. He has published articles in The Journal of Map & Geography Libraries, the New Mexico Historical Review, and Raumforschung und Raumordnung, among others. His first book, Remapping Modern Germany after National Socialism, 1945-1961, was published with Syracuse University Press in 2017.
Professor Mingus lives in Gallup, NM with his wife Lindsey (who is the principal at Red Rock Elementary School), their sons Isaac and Ben, and their dog, Livy. In his spare time he enjoys reading, hiking, and playing board games.
